Not only has FUTURO of MTSU grown as a professional organization, but it has grown into an intercultural family. This past year, we adopted Laotian and Indian to our Latino Organization. Our events in the fall have helped us expand the organization and become more diverse. We are proud to have been in MTSU’s homecoming parade representing the Latino community on campus and coming in second place.

We collaborated with the university’s Intercultural and Diversity Aairs department in several events. We were given the opportunity to host their International Cultural Meal in which we shared dierent foods from various Latin American countries and taught students how to dance. Our chapter also participated in Murfreesboro’s Discovery Center’s Hispanic Heritage Day. We ended our fall events by hosting a Dia De Los Muertos event in which we celebrated with our student body.

During our spring semester, we had several guest speakers like; Tara Moore from Verizon Wireless, Alejandro Angel, Hugo Paguaga and Nikole Reed from Nissan North America, Latreace Sankey-Wells from Inroads, and Javier Solano from McNeely Piggot and Fox. We had workshops to learn how to build resumes, prepare for job interviews, create successful LinkedIn profiles and have strong brand management.

FUTURO of MTSU has had a very successful year in which we will all continue grow professionally and personally. We are definitely excited to see what this upcoming year has for all of us, especially our new leaders. We will all work together as a family and build strong relationships.
