This year, Trevecca’s FUTURO chapter said farewell to Tammy Daughtry, chapter advisor since start of FUTURO organization, and welcomed to our family Dr. Yanice Mendez, new advisor for our chapter. A few of our chapter’s personal highlights include several guest speakers at our monthly meetings, such as Eduardo Lelli (Pastor at Bethel Hispanic Madison Church of the Nazarene and psychologist), Michael Sturgeon (Owner of Fidelity Motors), Brad Hopkins (13-year NFL Titans Player/Pro-Bowler Sports Broadcaster/Business Man), Greg Garrett (Diversity and Inclusion, StateFarm), Jose Rodriguez (Director of Operations for Tennessee Latin American Chamber of Commerce), Andrea Robleto (Lipscomb Graduate, Caterpillar Financial), and Gabriel Aviles (UP Entertainment).

We were honored to host the annual YMCA Latino Achievers College Fair, where approximately 350 local Latino high school students met representatives from dierent Middle Tennessee universities. We had several freshmen recruits and join forces with the International Student Association of Trevecca for the annual event of “Taste the Nations.” We hosted a Fall Fiesta on campus as part of our diversity awareness eorts during Hispanic Heritage Month, and continued our traditional Navidad Fiesta for our members and families.

We had a few members attend the LULAC Collegiate Conference in Washington, D.C. We enjoyed interacting with other FUTURO chapters and building connections with professionals within our community. We look forward to staying connected in our community, continuing our service to others, growing academically and professionally, and representing FUTURO and Trevecca the best we can. We are grateful for this opportunity and responsibility as we eagerly wait for the coming year!
